ABOUT BILL MARSHALL & FAMILY
Bill grew up not far from Telluride in the mountain resort communities of Crested Butte, Durango and Gunnison. The son of a forest service engineer and kindergarten teacher, Bill and his two brothers grew up with a deep appreciation of the majestic mountains of southern Colorado, the abundant wildlife and natural scenic beauty in their "backyard". As you might imagine, Bill is an active hiker, fly fisherman, expert skier, kayaker, golfer, mountain and road biker. Graduating from Western State College in 1979 with degrees in Business Administration and Economics, Bill worked his way through school as a ski instructor. After graduation, Bill worked for a leading European ski equipment importer, Beconta, representing, Kastle skis, Dolomite boots and Look bindings. Bill then went onto enjoy a very successful Mountain Resort and luxury Hotel career, serving as Director of Sales and Marketing at some of the finest luxury Hotels in the world in Vail, Beaver Creek, Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole. Bill came to Telluride in 1995 as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Telluride Ski & Golf Company. Bill has been an active member of the business community serving as President of the Board of Directors of the Telluride and Mountain Village Convention & Visitors Bureau, in addition to serving on the Montrose and Telluride Airport Board of Directors.
Bill and his wife Diana met here in Telluride and married mid-mountain at Goronno Ranch. The absolute joy of their life is their daughter, Ashlyn Hope, who learned to ski at age two and now keeps Mom and Dad hopping between skiing, soccer, biking, swimming and ballet. Ashlyn is growing up just like her Dad, with a love for the mountains and the outdoors, catching her first fish at Trout Lake with proud Papa looking on. Their big blond Golden Retriever "Tucker" helps to round out the chaos around the house.
"We absolutely love Telluride and feel it is one of the last truly special places on earth to live and also raise a family. Unlike other resort towns Telluride has heart and true sense of community. Telluride is home…and we feel certain you will come to know and love this very special place, as much as we do." |
